Death
Mrs. Mattie Jane Furr, 56, passed away at her home near Stanfield Sunday morning at 10 o'clock. Elder Sylvester Williams and Rev. Clarence Whitley conducted the funeral service at Bear Creek Primitive Baptist church Monday afternoon at two o'clock. Her body was laid to rest in the church cemetery. Mrs. Furr is survived by her husband, P. D. Furr; three sons, Arthur J. of Albemarle, Paul, Jr., of Albemarle, rt.3, and J. H. Furr of New London; three daughters, Mrs. J. F. Helms of Concord, Mrs. J. W. Speights of New London, and Mrs. Lloyd Almond of China Grove; three sisters, Mrs. Annie Almond of Albemarle, Mrs. Hatley of Mt. Pleasant, and Mrs. Sarah Herring of Stanfield; two brothers, D. C. Paige of Richfield and Adam Paige of Landis; and fifteen grandchildren.The Albemarle Enterprise, Albemarle, North Carolina, August 7, 1947
