Individual Details
George W. BUSH
(1851 - 8 May 1937)
Listed among survivors in obituary of his stepmother, Olivina Boucher, as George Bush of Kalipspell, Mont. (Menominee Co. Journal, 4 Apr 1908).
On the day he was married, George's mill burned down at a loss of $15,000. The fire supposedly started in the packing house where the watchman was getting up steam for the day's work. (Menominee Herald -- quoted in "Menominee County Book for Schools," ed. Ethel Schuyler, Menominee: Office of County School Commissioner, 1941.) The mill had been located in Daggett.

Notes
Birth
Age 3 on 1855 State Census of New York -- Salina, Onondaga Co. (FHL #0870757). Although the census states that he was born in Onondaga Co., a researcher from Syracuse could find no baptismal record at St. John the Baptist or Assumption Churches (the only ones in the Salina area at the time). All census records I've researched to this point indicate that he was born in New York. 1861 Census for Quebec (Yamachiche, St-Maurice Co., p. 182) gives his age as 11; I'll compromise between these two early censuses for the birth year.Census
