Notes
Birth
1855 Census gives age as ten years old.Her entry in the IGI gives her birthplace as St-Maurice County, Quebec, but the 1855 New York State Census states that she was born in Onondaga County, New York. The 1861 Census of Quebec for Yamachiche, St-Maurice Co. (AGLL film #C-1322), which gives her age as 16, also confirms that she was born in the United States. I found no baptismal record for her in Yamachiche. Researcher in Syracuse could find no record of her baptism in the Salina area churches. She may have been baptized by an itinerant priest; hence, there would be no record.
Death record gives her age at death as 38 years and 21 days, which calculates to a birth date of 1 May 1846. I'll accept the month and day, but the year from the 1855 Census is more persuasive, because it is closer to the actual time of her birth. The death record also states that she was born in New York.

Odd that Margaret was listed on this census, since she died the month before. Apparently the stated enumeration date was before her death. Charles' occupation: farmer.Endnotes
