Age 6 on 1855 New York State Census -- Salina, Onondaga Co. (FHL #0870757). Age 13 on 1861 Census of Québec -- Yamachiche, St-Maurice Co., p. 182 (AGLL Film #C-1322). Both censuses indicate that he was born in Québec.

French records use original family name: BOUCHER. LDS ordinances done under this name.

Listed among guests at wedding of Libbie Raboin and Charles Perrizo in January of 1904: Mr. & Mrs. James Busch of Escanaba (Menominee Co. Journal, 9 Jan 1904). (This may be an erroneous reference to his brother, Joseph, who did live in Escanaba. Not listed among survivors in obituary of his step-mother, Olivina Boucher (MCJ, 4 Apr 1908).
