Newport --Funeral services for Frederick J. Kirkpatrick, 87, who died August 10 at the Pend Oreille Pines nursing home, will be held at 11 am today (Thursday) from the Sherman Chapel in Newport followed by burial in the Newport cemetery. Born November 5, 1892, in Wassan, Wisc., Mr Kirkpatrick was a retired logger and an area resident since 1963. He was a member of World War l Veterans Barracks 3490 in Newport. He leaves his wife, Irene, of Newport; daughters Dorothy Charles of Malden, Wash; Anna Winter of St. Maries, Idaho, and Lorna Upton of Salt Lake City; a son, Robert, of Magna, Utah; plus a number of second and third generation grandchildren and a great-great grandchild. Also surviving are stepsons Gerald Simpkins of Azusa, Calif.; Johnny Simpkins of Priest River and Dennis Olson, Newport, and a stepdaughter, Marlene Kirkpatrick of Magna, Utah
