Louella Kirkpatrick

Louella was born 21 September 1878, Brunswick, Chariton County, Missouri. She married there on 11 December 1903, to Charles Clyde Painter. Shortly after their marriage, the couple moved to Bakersfield, Kern County, California, possibly because Louella's cousin, Lillie May Colvin and her husband, Grant Brown, lived there. They later moved to Taft, an oil town south of Bakersfield. In Taft, Clyde became a partner in a general merchandise store with a Mr. Heard, Louella's brother, Jim, was also briefly a partner in this enterprise.
Clyde died in Bakersfield on 14 July 1945 and is buried at the Union Cemetery in Bakersfield. Louella died on 7 December 1969 in Santa Barbara, where she lived with her son Edwin. She is buried in Bakersfield next to Clyde.
There were two (2) children born of the marriage.
