(21 Jun 1884 - 11 May 1970)
Stella Kirkpatrick was born 21 June 1884 in Brunswick, Chariton County, Missouri. She moved with her family to Bakersfield, Kern County, California about 1905, and then to the Long Beach, California area about 1920. Stella went to nursing school in Los Angeles, but could not finish because of illness. She married on 6 June 1922 in Long Beach, to Roy Elwood Newcomer, who was born 10 November 1883 in Shenandoah, Page County, Iowa. Roy was employed as a master machinist at Regan Forge.
Because of Roy's severe allergies, Roy and Stella eventually moved to the high desert community of Lucerne Valley, east of Victorville, in San Bernardino County, California. They lived the remainder of their lives together there. Stella died on 11 May 1970 at Apple Valley, and Roy died there on 4 April 1974. They had no children.
