Obituary in Herald-Democrat 3 May 1948: A. F. Porter, funeral services for A. F. Porter, 75 years of age, who died April 30 at his home in Harmony after a long illness were conducted at 4 pm Sunday, May 2 at the Harmony Presbyterian Church with the Rev. E. Hoyt Kerr Jr., pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Clarksville officiating. Burial was in the Harmony Cemetery, directed by the Hardwicke Funeral Home. A retired farmer, Mr. Poeter was well-known through the county. He is survived by his widow; one daughter Mrs. A. B. Sexton, Malden, MO, two sons, Charles E. Porter of Marfa, TX and J. L. Porter of Harmony, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. W. S. Bennett, Hartman; one brother G. C Porter of Farmington, AR.
