On the 1900 U. S. Census of Johnson Co., Arkansas, Joseph B. Porter appears with his wife Nancy C. and children Una S. and Guy C. Joseph is a farmer and Guy works as farm laborer. Nancy is the mother of 8, 6 of whom are still living.
On the 1910 U. S. Census of Horsehead Township, Johnson Co., Arkansas, J. B. and N. C. appear. they have been married 50 Years. Nancy is the mother of 9 children, 6 of whom are currently living. J. B. works as a saw mill employee.
Clarksville-Democrat, Clarksville, Arkansas, 6 Nov. 1913: Death of Judge Porter. Judge J. B. Porter of Harmony at his home Saturday evening Nov. 1st at the age of 74 years and was buried in the Harmony graveyard. Rev. G. D. Crawford preaching the funeral sermon. The attendance at the funeral was very large many friends of Judge Porter from every part of the county being present. He had been in failing health of some time. Judge Porter was one of the most universally respected citizens of Johnson county having spent practically all his life here. He was at one time county judge of this county was an old confederate soldier and no man in Johnson county was held in higher esteem. He is survived by a widow and several children.
