Obituary from the Oelwein Daily Register, Dec. 28, 1982, page,10: Funeral services have now been set for a former longtime Oelwein resident, Lydia Inez Hodges, 542 Riehl, Waterloo. Services for the 88 year-old retired homemaker will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Brant-Kerns Funeral Home in Oelwein with elders Douglas McFarlane and Merl McFarlane officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Oelwein. She died Sunday night at the Americana Health Care Center in Waterloo. Friends may call anytime at Brant-Kerns. She is survived by one brother, Carl Hosier, Plover; two grandchildren, John Anstey, Waterloo, and Mrs. Delmar (Charlene) Hulett, New Hampton; three great grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Joseph Hodges, who died in 1965; one daughter; three brothers and four sisters.
