Oelwein Daily Register, March 9, 1965, page 2: Services Wednesday for Joseph Hodges. Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. for Joseph I. Hodges, 69, 616 6th Ave. N.E. who died Sunday morning at Mercy Hospital in Oelwein. Elder Evert McFarlane will officiate at the service, to be in the Brant Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery. Hodges, who lived in Oelwein nearly his entire lifetime, is survived by his wife, Lydia, a step daughter Rachel, two grandchildren, three great grandchildren; two brothers, Alma, of Waterloo and Lee, of Overland park, Kans.; and four sisters, Mrs. H. R. McKenney, South Gate, Calif., Mrs. J. F. McNamee, Gualala, Calif., Mrs. Gene Knapp, Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Wilbur Peterson, Minneapolis. He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
