Charles Thomas Kirkpatrick

Charles Kirkpatrick was born 3 April 1833, in Illinois, and died 11 September 1902, Henry County, Iowa. In 1835, together with his older sister and the rest of his family, Charles crossed the Mississippi and settled with them in Lee County, not far from West Point. In 1853 they moved again to Henry County, Iowa. On 9 September 1858, he married Sarah E. Stephenson, who was born 3 or 9 September 1838 and died on 29 April 1909.

There were three children born of the marriage.

Charles with his wife Sarah and children Laura and William appear on the U. S. Census of Baltimore, Henry Co., Iowa in 1880.

Charles Kirkpatrick Passes Away Aged 70 Years---New Long Old Settler Goes to Last Resting Place. New London, Ia., Sept. 11---(correspondence)---Charles Kirkpatrick, of Lowell, died this morning after suffering untold agonies for nearly a year with a cancer on his face. Mr. Kirkpatrick was about 70 years of age, and was one of the most highly respected citizens of his community. His funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock at his late home one mile south of Lowell.
