Services Are Held For Katie Cumpston. Clarisa C. Cumpston, a long-time resident of Gothenburg, passed away Thursday morning, Oct 26, 1972, at the Cozad Hospital. She had been making her home at Cozad. Katie, as she was known to her many friends, was born in Beloit, Wisconsin on March 27, 1898. She is survived by five sons: Francis of Lexington, Leonard of Patmos, N.J.; Harold of Carroll, Iowa; Donald of Arapahoe, and James of Fort Leonard Wood, MO.; four daughters: Virginia, Mrs. Lester Keiser of Gothenburg; Naomi Prato of Baltimore, Maryland; LaVonn Howat of Madison, and Wanda Miller of Cozad; 21 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Services were held Saturday afternoon in the First United Methodist Church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Hugh H. Houchin. Bernard Ristine was the soloist accompanied by Mrs. Harry Ostergard. Pallbearers were Leonard France, Tot Holmes, Dick Larson, Bill Mann, Scott Ward and Lewis Wolf. Interment was in Grand View Cemetery. Gothenburg Times, Thursday, November 2, 1972, Page 1, Col. 4.
