LaVonne Randle, 67, of Gothenburg, died Friday, Aug. 7, 1998, at Gothenburg Memorial Hospital. A memorial service was held Tuesday at Blase Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, with the Rev. David Fowler officiating. Burial was at the Grandview Cemetery. She was born Sept. 13, 1930, to Francis H. and Clarisa Katherine (McNeal) Cumpston in Gothenburg. She worked for five years as a school custodian at Adams Junior High in North Platte, and as a school custodian in Madison. She also owned and operated Von's Alibi in Hersey for over 10 years. Mrs. Randle was a member of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars, Eagles, and Moose auxiliaries, all of North Platte, and the Legion Auxiliary of Gothenburg. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Virginia and Ruby*; a brother, Leo**; and two nieces and a nephew. She is survived by three sons, Jerry Randle of Virginia Beach, VA, David Randle of Norfolk, and Jeff (Sharon) of Grayson, KY; four granddaughters, Jill, Rachel, Megan and Erin Randle; two sisters, Naomi Prato of Baltimore, MD, and Wanda (Luther) Miller of Gothenburg, five brothers, **Leonard (Phyllis) Cumpston of Pitman, NJ, Francis (Virginia) Cumpston of Lexington, Harold Cumpston of Carroll, IA, Jim (Janice) Cumpston of Grand Island, and Don (Barbara) Cumpston of Weeping Water.
