Marcella May Kirkpatrick

Obituary from the Bucklin Banner, Thursday, April 18, 1935: Marcella Mae Kirkpatrick was born March 12, 1922, on a farm three miles north of Bucklin, where she lived until she departed from this life Saturday morning at 9:40 o'clock, April 13, 1935 at the Murry Memorial hospital in Dodge City, Kansas, at the age of thirteen years, one month and one day. The cause of her death being measles and dust pneumonia. Marcella attended the Bucklin schools all seven grades. She was active in all school activities and especially outstanding in the music department. Marcella confessed her faith in Christ and was baptized into the Christian church October 2, 1932, where she worked as a faithful follower of Christ until her death. Everyone who knew her will remember her as the girl with a winning kindness and a good turn for all. Her goodness will stand as a memorial in our hearts for many years to come. She leaves to mourn her loss, her father and mother, three brothers, Kenneth, Warren and Keith. Two grandfathers, one grandmother, five aunts, five uncles, three cousins, many other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted from the home of the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Kirkpatrick, at 2:30 p. m. Sunday. Rev. Ira B. Sandusky conducted the services. Interment was in the Bucklin cemetery.
