Obituary from Hutchinson News Dec. 7, 2002: Weatherford, Okla--Warren Wilmer Kirkpatrick, 77, died Dec. 5, 2002, at Southwestern Memorial Hospital, Weatherford, Okla. He was born June 1, 1925, in Bucklin, the son of Glenn and Jessie Melia Kirkpatrick. He graduated from Bucklin High School in 1943, and worked for Dodge City Coop, Howell, for seven years and as a U. S. Postal Service mail carrier for 27 years. In 1985, he retired and moved to Weatherford, Okla in 1996. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theatre. On Aug. 9, 1947, he married V. Jean Fischer at Dodge City. Survivors include: a daughter Nancy Penner, Weatherford, Okla.; and a grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife; two brothers, Keith and Kenneth; and a sister, Marcela. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at The Chapel of Lockstone Funeral Home, Weatherford, Okla., with the Rev. Lynn Brack presiding. Memorials may be sent to Multiple Sclerosis Society, in care of the funeral home.
