Obituary from The Manchester Press, 30 July 1980, Page 3: Mrs. Ruby Tinkey, 83, of Manchester died Friday, July 25 at her home after a sudden illness. Services were held today (Monday) at 1:30 p.m. at Bohnenkamp-Vernon funeral home with the Rev. Merlin Davies officiating. Burial was at Oakland cemetery. She was born Feb. 24, 1897 in Clayton county, the daughter of John and Suzanne (Ingles) Hosier. She received her education in the schools of Clayton county. She was married to Fred Tinkey at Elkader on Oct. 16, 1913. Mrs. Tinkey had been a resident of Manchester for 23 years. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Patrick (Alberta) Hall of Dubuque and Mrs. Lloyd (Erma) Reth of Delhi; four sons, Roy Tinkey of Chula Vista, Calif., Wilfred Tinkey of Dubuque, James Tinkey of Hamilton, Mont. and LaVerne Tinkey of Strawberry Point; 20 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred, in 1967; one daughter, Ida Mae, and three infant sons.
