Individual Details
Susan (Sue) Briles
(1863 - )
Susan (or Sue) is in NOT the caption (provided by Deborah Penny in September 2001) to a 1909 photo taken outside her parents' home in Italy, Texas.
Two family sources say that she married a Dempse Arnold and that the couple did not have any children. She (and her husband?) is said to have moved back to North Carolina in about 1896, where she died, which probably explains her being missing from the 1909 photo.
Why isn't she with the rest of her family in the 1870 Census for Randolph County, N.C.? Maybe she was visiting a relative at the time? Since she wasn't with the family in the 1880 Census for Randolph County either, one wonders if she really is part of this family after all! However, there is space for her in the family birth order!
