Mattie (Matt) Briles

She is NOT in the caption (provided by Deborah Penny in September 2001) to a 1909 photo taken outside her parents' home in Italy, Texas.
We have assume that this is the Mattie Briles who married a D. D. Harris in Ellis County, Texas, on March 5, 1893. Other family history agrees that she married a Dave Harris.
The 1880 U.S. Census for Randolph, N.C., lists a Martha G. or C., who was 8 years old at the time, which yields a birth year of about 1872.
Nancy and Mattie can't both be born in 1867 (which some family history indicates to be the case) unless they are twins, and there is no indication that they were. If Mattie and Martha G. or C. of the 1880 Census are the same person, than Mattie's birth year is 1872. Have changed Mattie's birth year to 1872 accordingly.
