LIFE
A. Birth year 1826 estimated. "At the age of 22, while serving as Governor of the island of Hawaii, Leleiohoku died" (Kwan, et al, Na Lani Kamehameha, p 21).
B. As people were gathering for his marriage to Harriet Nahienaena, Kamehameha III sent a message to delay the marriage until Leleiohoku could gain some schooling prior to marrying the king's sister. He therefore entered Lahainaluna School and after receiving some education, the two were married 25 Nov 1835 (Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, p 340).
Conflict: Kumu Hawaii, 23 December 1835, p 205, He Papa no kekahi mau mea i kahiki 1835 states the marriage was on June 2, 1835.
C. He was governor of Hawaii in 1846 (Bingham, A Residence of Twenty-one Years in the Sandwich Islands, p xvi). He was governor of Hawaii in 1848 (Fornander, An Account of the Polynesian Race, vol 2 p 131).
D. He died of measles on same day as Moses Kekuaiwa 21 Oct 1848 (Liliuokalani, Hawaii's Story by Hawaii's Queen, p 8).
