Conflict: Phillips Collection Book, G-4, p 30 lists parents as Luka and Leleiohoku . Liliuokalani, Hawaii's Story by Hawaii's Queen, p 27 states that he was adopted by Ruth.
LIFE
A. Birth year 1842 estimated. "But at the age of 17, William Pitt Kina'u was killed in an accident on Hawai'i" (Kwan et al, Na Lani Kamehameha, p 21).
B. He was raised by Hinakahua and Naihe Iehu (Record of foster parents of the Kamehamehas and other chiefs, HEN v1 p 763-765).
C. He "Fill[ed] the office of regent during the absence of Kalakaua" (Liliuokalani, Hawaii's Story by Hawaii's Queen, p 27).
D. He had no children (Descendants of Prince Keeaumoku I, Hms G65, Chart 8-A-2).
E. He died young (Alexander, A Brief History of the Hawaiian People, p 317).
Conflict: Peabody-Henriques genealogy, Hms G17, p 290 list death date as September 9, 1854.
