LIFE
A. Original name Kekua-i-piia and renamed Namahana (Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, p 127; Pukui, "Hawaiian Genealogies, p 31a).
B. Kalama was her guardian (Board of Genealogy of Hawaiian Chiefs, M445-2-27, p 2).
C. She was paired with Kamehameha in 1766, but had no children with him (Ahlo, Kamehameha's Children today, p 3).
D. She was baptized a Christian with Kaahumanu on 4 Dec 1825 (Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, p 323).
E. She and Laanui were one of the first couples to be married as Christians (Castro, High Chief Kalokuokamaile, p 15).
F. She had no children with Laanui (Pukui, Hawaiian Genealogies, p 23,89).
Conflict: McKinzie, Hawaiian Genealogies, vol 2 p 138 states that Kekuaipiia had only 1 mate Laanui and had no children
G. She passed away not long after her marriage to Laanui (Pratt, Keoua: Father of Kings, p 48).
Conflict: Genealogies, etc., 1918, M397-2-17 list death date as 23 Mar 1824.
