LIFE
A. Birth year 1690, estimated at Stokes' 20-year standard prior to son Keoua, plus 2 years because Keoua was Keeaumoku's third child (but first of father's second mate).
B. He was the second son of Keawe (Pratt, Keoua: Father of Kings, p 9).
C. Born the day after Kekuiapoiwa (Pukui, Hawaiian Genealogies, p 91).
D. Raised by Keaweluaole, personal guardian of Keawe (Pukui, Hawaiian Genealogies, p 91).
E. Alii-nui of Hawaii island (Kamakau, Tales and Traditions of the People of Old, p 72). When his father Keawe died, he became chief of Kona and Kohala (Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, p 64).
F. Order of mates because Kanekoa is the older brother of Keoua (McKinzie, Hawaiian Genealogies, vol 1 p 89).
G. He "became High Priest of the order of Io after Keawe-Uhi-I-Kealakea" (Oukah, Hawaiian Royal & Noble Genealogies, p 173).
H. Killed in battle by Alapainui (Fornander, An Account of the Polynesian Race, vol 2 p 143). Alapai seized his inheritance of land (Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, p 76). Death year set at ??. It must be before Alapai's death in 1754.
