LINEAGE
Conflict: Kapooloku genealogy, Hms G48, p 2 lists parents as Keouanui and Kailakanoakuaana, child of Palenanui and Kahoiwiokuaana.
Conflict: Ahlo et al, Kamehameha's Children Today, p 153 lists father as Keawepoepoe.
LIFE
A. He and his brother Kahai were paternal uncles of Kamehameha (Fornander, Account of the Polynesian Race, vol 2 p 309-310). He would perch his nephew Kamehameha on his hip along the plains of Kawaihae and hills of Waimea (Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, p 124).
B. Later in life, he defected from Kamehameha to Kiwalao (Fornander, Account of the Polynesian Race, vol 2 p 309).
C. He was killed in battle before between Hilo and Kau, Hawaii likely before 1782 (estimated to be 1781) (Fornander, Account of the Polynesian Race, vol 2 p 316,319).
