Bereth Aune Laid To Rest
Funeral services were held on Monday, April 4, at the Lutheran Free church for Bereth O. Aune, a long-time resident of the community. Rev. M. A. Ericksen officiated at the last rites. Musical numbers were two songs by a quartette composed of Mrs. Teddy Mathison, Mr. and Mrs. P. C. Hinsverk, and Herman Ronning. They sang "What A Friend We Have in Jesus" and "Beyond the Sunset".
Interment was in the East cemetery. Pallbearers were Lars Thoreson, Nels Pederson. Oliver Sommervold, Andrew Froseth, Oscar Ruttum, and Andrew J. Aune.
Bereth O. Aune was born in Hendricks township, Lincoln county, MN on April 30,1887, the daughter of Mr and Mrs. Ole Aune. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She had lived in this community for most of her lifetime, for many years being confined to her bed as an invalid.
She had resided for the past few years at a Rest Home in Marshall. It was there that death came on March 31, 1949, at the age of 61 years and 11 months.
She is survived by one sister, Gina (Mrs. Anton) Christianson of Hendricks and four brothers, Pete and Andrew Aune of Hendricks, Lars Aune of Marshall, and Ole Aune of Cambridge, MN. Other survivors are seven nephews and five nieces. Those who preceded her in death were her parents, a daughter, Mina, and a sister, Bertha Aune.
