Obituary from the Hendricks Pioneer:
OLE AUNE IS LAID TO REST
Ole Aune, another of the pioneer residents of the community, has been laid at rest. Advanced in age and failing for the past year, pneumonia recently contracted, hastened the end. Of the sturdy stock which built up this country and now are passing on, he came here in the year 1886, married and settled on land 2-1/2 miles southeast of Hendricks, where he remained continuously until death. (11 Mar 1920)
Ole Aune was born in Storen, Norway, July 3, 1848, and was therefore nearly 72 years of age.
He came to America in 1874, and first settled in the timber section at Rice Lake, Wisconsin. After coming here, he married Maret Engesronning and they raised a family of three boys and three girls, besides a step son.
These, together with the widow, a brother and two sisters survive. John Aune and Mrs. John Ruttum of this community are brother and sister and another sister is still living in the old country. The children are Andrew, Lars and Ole, Beret, Gina and Bertha, and Peder Aune, the step-son.
The funeral was held from the home at 12:30 and in the East church at 2 o’clock, conducted by Rev. O. L. Christianson, burial being given in the church cemetery.Obituary from the Hendricks Pioneer:
