Burial Service for Mrs. Anna Hindoien
Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Hindoien were held in Calvary Lutheran church in Hendricks on Tuesday afternoon, October 23, 1962. A family service was held at 1:30 p.m.in the church parlors and the church service at 2 p.m. Pastor H. R. Schafer officiated. At the family service Mrs. Teddy Mathison sang two numbers: "Shadows" and "Just as I am Without One Plea".
A quartet, Hans Hegstad, Carvel Johnson, Mrs. Wilbert Blake and Mrs. Clarence Nygaard sang "In Times Like These" and "Day by Day" at the church service. Mrs. Carvel Johnson served as organist.
Interment was in the East Hendricks cemetery with Sigurd Wold, Arnold Eggen, Alvin Pederson, Alvin Thoreson, Theodore Mathison and Eddie Ronning as pallbearers.
Anna Digre Hindoien was born January 4, 1897 to Lars and Beret Digre of Lincoln county. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. On December 18, 1917 she was united in marriage with Sivert Hindoien of Lincoln county by Rev. Christianson. To this union three daughters were born.
She resided in this community her entire life. She was a life-long member of the Calvary congregation and was also a member of the Calvary Ladies Aid and received her Life Membership pin in 1962.
She is survived by two daughters, Luella (Mrs. Norin Morseth) of Hendricks, Hilma (Mrs. James Ekse) of Minneapolis; two grandchildren and one sister, (Mrs. Lars Aune) of Marshall. She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter (Inez), her parents, two brothers and one sister.
Mrs Hindoien had been in failing health for the past year. She was taken to the Hendricks hospital, where she passed away early on Saturday morning, Oct. 20, 1962 at the age of 65 years, 9 months, and 16 days.
