Attended Diocesan School. Each day she and her sister Norah (ChristineAlice) would walk to school.
The girls from Diocesan school were from wealthy families and used to
look down on Nan and Norah, and made fun of everything, including
their sandwiches.

Worked for two years at St Mary's Home for Fallen Women.She had always wanted to be a nurse, but at 17 years, was too young
(in those days, you had to be 19 years).

At St Peters, Hamilton.Stephen and Nancy were cousins. They had to sign a promise to the
church to say there would be no children because of this relationship.
However Nan had a happy nature and all her nieces and nephews were her
family and loved her dearly.

Farmed in Taupiri (Waikato), Inglewood (Taranaki), then Kaiaua(Waikato).
