Individual Details
(October 6, 1751 - April 13, 1825)
"Elizabeth Greer, born 1 October 1751. Elizabeth and her husband, James Greer were double first cousins." (Genealogical Chart of Richard L. Greer, Marion, Virginia, 1985.) (NOTE FROM RALPH TERRY: This birth date is five years earlier than given by other Greer researchers, which is October 1756. I do not know what Richard's source is for this date, but could possibly be the Bible mentioned below. Elizabeth and James were cousins, but Richard shows that Elizabeth was a daughter of Joseph Greer and Ann Low. This would make them double first cousins, however, I have found no other researchers who show Elizabeth to be their daughter. All other works, I have seen, show Elizabeth to be a daughter of William Greer and Sarah Freeland, as indicated in this genealogy, William being a nephew of Joseph and Benjamin Greer.)
"All names, relationships and birthdates and marriage dates on the page (referring to this family) taken from Greer-Ferguson Bible owned by Miss Mattie Holland of Redwood, Virginia." (from the papers of Martha V. Harris, Phoenix, Arizona, during the 1950's, as taken from a LDS microfilm.)
