Individual Details

Isiah Greer

(October 3, 1779 - March 25, 1852)

1850 Barren County, Kentucky census.

"Isiah and Rachel Greer were twins." (Records of Mrs. James H. White, deceased, of Fort Worth, Texas, as given in GREER FAMILY by William Greer Peck, 1980, page 44.)

Information about the Chambers - Greer Cemetery was found in KENTUCKY ANCESTORS, Vol. 9, No. 1, July 1973, page 39. It is located between Roseville and Cooktown on the Oil Well Road, on a farm formerly owned by J. O. Horning, now owned by Mr. McGuire. Information on the tombstones was copied by Mrs. Eva C. Peden, 208 Morningside Drive, Glasgow, Kentucky 42141, and Mrs. Martha Renueu, Glasgow, Kentucky. Many of the people buried at this cemetery are related to Isiah Greer. The Chambers name of the cemetery apparently comes from Edward Chambers (1790 - 1852).
