"Last rites for William E. Newman, age 78 years, were held at 3 o'clock Monday at the Fenders cemetery. Rev. C. W. Williams officiated. Dennis-Green Funeral Home directing. Surviving are two sons, J. E. Newman of Hollingsworth and Elmer of Beaumont, Texas; four daughters, Mrs. Odia Mae Davenport of Beaumont, Texas, with whom he made his home, Mrs. Nora Cassell of Lake Charles, Mrs. Theo Mitchell of Many and Mrs. Bessie Johnson of Dallas, Texas. Mr. Newman was a former citizen of Many and Sabine parish, having made his home with a daughter, Mrs. Odia Mae Davenport of Beaumont, Texas, for the past four years."
