"Sarah Greer was born 10 November 1780, married a McCoy. A will in Clarke County, Georgia of Henry McCoy names his children and wife, Sarah, but he would have been much older than Sarah Greer as he was the father of Neely who married her sister. In the estate record filed in 1838 by John McCoy, Exec. of Henry McCoy estate, Clarke County, Georgia, filed 1 July 1838, Henry Greer is paid his share in full. Henry McCoy named daughter, Polly Greer, as daughter in will. Henry Greer, son of William Greer (Aquilla) married a Mary ca 1825. Sarah Greer must have married one of the other sons. Sons of Henry McCoy were John, Abner, Jeremiah, Edmond, Wiley. Sarah is not mentioned in the final settlement of James' estate." (MY GREER LINEAGE, 1992, by Mary Lee Barnes, page 56.)
