"Florence June Tate was the fifth child of Maude Poer and Ova Tate and the second daughter. She was born May 3, 1916 in Madison County, Kentucky. She was named after my mother's sister, Florence Poer and the girl, June, in the book, "Trail of The Lonesome Pine", by John Fox, Jr. June married Charlie Martin Bucher on December 23, 1933. Charlie was from the 'Swiss Colony' at London, Laurel County, Kentucky. They had a happy marriage and were tenant farmers until they bought their farm on Three Forks Road in Madison County in the 1940s. They had two sons, Gary a nd Lloyd. In 1974, a tornado passed through Madison County and took off the top of their house. It damaged their barn and set a one and a half ton truck and a Ford tractor in the pond beside their house.
