"Rev. John Pickett, born January 14, 1744, in King George County, Virginia; died June 1803 in Culpepper County, Virginia; was one of the early minister of the Baptist Church; was ordained pastor of Carters Run Church, Fauquier County, Virginia, 1772; was imprisoned, but continued to preach from the jail windows; when released he went to Culpeper County, Virginia; married April 24, 1770, Hannah Withers and had issue."
