"27 Mar 1760, page 513, John Taylor is appointed overseer of the Road from Picketts ford down into the.Dundee road & that he with the Male Labouring Tithables of Thos Lovejoy, Thomas Walker Jr. & John Shepherd clear the same. "Feb. 20, 1765, John Pickett and Mary, his wife, of Caroline County, convey by deed of gift, to Mace Pickett, son of the said John and Mary Pickett, all that tract of land the said John and Mary Pickett hold in Southfarnham Parish, Essex County, containing 125 acres, and adjoining lands of William Cox and Henry Cox, and on Piscataway Creek. Witnesses: Edward Vauter William Pickett, ir [jr.] Mace (M, his mark) Pickett, junr."
