Lee Roy Hock was born November 7, 1887 in Ft Smith, Arkansas (Sebastian County), son of George Alva Hock and Cora Bell Permenter. Lee had a brother and a sister, George Washington, born November 11, 1890 in Ft Smith Arkansas; and Bertha, born October 1892, in Indian Territory. He also had half-siblings resulting from his mother's other marriages.

On August 3, 1913, in Odetta, Oklahoma (Kiowa County), Lee married Bettie Sophronia Reynolds, who was born October 12, 1893, in Italy, Texas (Ellis County), daughter of Andrew J. Reynolds and Emma Manila Kendrick.

Lee and Bettie ultimately would have six children: Ralph Laymond Hock, Leonard Ray Hock, Alfred James Hock, Loyd Warren Hock, Paul Calvin Hock, and Joe Lawrence Hock.

In 1930, Lee, age 42, a city inspector, and Bettie, age 36, were living in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (Oklahoma County) with their five children: Ralph L., age 15; Leonard R., age 13; Alfred J., age 9; Loyd W., age 7; and Paul Calvin; age 5; all born in Oklahoma. Also living in the household was Bettie's brother, Chester J. Reynolds, age 32, a railroad clerk, born in Texas.

Lee died February 19, 1955, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (Oklahoma County) and was buried in Sunnylane Cemetery. Bettie died February 21, 1988 in Bethany, Oklahoma (Oklahoma County) and was buried beside her husband.

Lee Roy Hock, 68, of 2309 Boyd, Oklahoma City, died early Saturday at Mercy Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Watts Funeral Chapel with burial in Sunnylane Cemetery.

Hock was born November 7, 1887 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and moved to Oklahoma City in 1916. He was one of Oklahoma City's first health officers and helped establish the first milk sanitation laws here.

He is survived by his wife, Bettie, of the home; six sons, Ralph Hock, Mindew, Louisiana; Leonard Hock, Walters, Oklahoma; Alfred James Hock, Washington D.C.; Loyd Warren Hock, Altus, Oklahoma; Paul Calvin Hock, 1910 NW 9th, Oklahoma City; and Joe Hock, 1436 Millard Drive, Del City, Oklahoma. Also two sisters, Mrs. Polly Rothe and Mrs. Mary Clantz, both of Oklahoma City, and two brothers, George Hock, Bakersfield, California; and William Hock, Los Angeles, California.
