Joe Lawrence Hock, 79, died in OKC after a sudden illness. He was born October 14, 1932 in OKC to Lee and Bettie Hock. He graduated from Central High School in OKC in 1951. He graduated from Oklahoma City University in 1962 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He graduated in 1965 with a Master of Theology and Psychology from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. He has served as pastor of several United Methodist Churches in Oklahoma and Texas, including St. Marks UMC in Bethany, OK and College Mound UMC in Terrell, TX. He did counseling at the West Side Counseling Center for 18 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers; Dr. Leonard Hock, A. J. Hock, Loyd Hock, and Calvin Hock, and a grandson, Cale Ryan Conrady. He is survived by his wife; Elroes "Poppy" Hock, daughters; Pam and husband Miles Dickinson, Jayna Hock, Judy Conrady, his grandsons; Scot Conrady, Jason Dickinson, Jake Conrady, Tate Conrady, Trey Martin, and Colton Conrady. Joe had four great-grandchildren; Evan and Eli Dickinson and Mallory and Cale Conrady, and one older brother; Ralph Hock from Minden, LA, and many nieces and nephews who he dearly loved. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Church of the Servant UMC 14343 N. MacArthur Blvd, OKC. Contributions may be made to Fellowship of Christian Athletes or to a charity of choice.
