George Washington Hock was born November 11, 1890 in Arkansas, son of George Alva Hock and Cora Bell Permenter. George had a brother Lee Roy, born November 1887 in Arkansas; and a sister, Bertha, born October 1892, in Indian Territory. He also had half-siblings resulting from his mother's other marriages.
On July 12, 1913, in Krebs, Oklahoma (Pittsburg County), George married Samantha Ethel McClain, who was born September 5, 1897, in Ft Smith, Arkansas (Pittsburg County), daughter of Alexander McClain and Sarah Ann Nelms. George and Ethel had six children.
On June 5, 1917, George registered for the World War I draft. He stated that he was age 26, born in Ft Smith, Arkansas; and that his birthday was November 11, 1891. He further indicated that he was married with two children, that he was living in Joplin, Missouri; and that he was working as a railroader for the St Louis-San Francisco Railway.
In 1930, George, age 39, and Ethel, age 32, were living in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (Oklahoma County) with their six children: Leroy, age 15, Ruth Anna, age 12; Nadine, age 10; Beatrice, age 7; Norma, age 5; and Juanita; age 1
Ethel died April 3, 1940, in El Paso, Texas (El Paso County). George subsequently married Roberta Jeanette Hootz.
George died July 6, 1975 in Midwest City, Oklahoma and was buried in Sunnylane Cemetery.
