Sophia Anne was the daughter of? George who married her cousin Sir William Templer Pole at St James Piccadilly on 21 August 1804. Perhaps because of? the marriage of cousins and hence close blood relationship,the marriage was tragic. Two sons and a daughter all died in the yearthey were born while Sophia Anne herself died only four years after marriage, six weeks after childbirth. Her monument, with a very lengthypoetical eulogy by her husband, is to be found in Shute church.
