POUGHKEEPSIE - Clay A. Martin, 73, of Poughkeepsie died Saturday, June 26, 2004, in a Batesville hospital.
Born April 14, 1931, at Mountain View, he was the son of Alva and Doris Tuttle Martin. He was a retired farmer, factory worker and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Cave City.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Morgan Martin; three sons, Ellis R. Martin of Bartow, Fla., Gordon Clay Martin of Noblesville, Ind., and Jack D. Martin of Poughkeepsie; three brothers, Alton Martin of Southside, Douglas Martin of Kokomo, Ind., and Lonnie Martin of Anderson, Ind.; seven sisters, Nola Pyle of Noblesville, Ava Mawhiney of Elijay, Ga., Alma Jones of Batesville, Allie Ivy of Marcella, Atha Grooms of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., Vada Thompson of Pennsylvania and Lola Solida of Floral; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Assembly of God Church in Cave City with Bobby Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Spotts Cemetery at Poughkeepsie with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers will be Heath Martin, Shawn Martin, Jason Martin, Wesley Koettel, Josh Martin and Jacob Martin.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight.
