BARTOW, Fla. - The Rev. Ellis Ray Martin, 54, of Bartow, Fla., died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006, in Lakeland, Fla.
Born Dec. 7, 1951, at Batesville, he was the son of Clay Alva and Evelyn Morgan Martin. He was the pastor at Bartow Church of God. He was a Church of God minister for over 30 years and was a former Church of God District Overseer of the Wooster, Ohio, District.
Survivors include his wife, Debra K. Martin; a son, Shawn A. Martin of Poughkeepsie; a daughter, Lenee N. Koettel of Evening Shade; his mother of Poughkeepsie; two brothers, Jack Martin of Poughkeepsie and Gordon Martin of Noblesville, Ind.; a granddaughter, Brianna Koettel of Evening Shade; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Assembly of God in Cave City with Bobby Sanders and Bob Majors officiating. Burial will be in Spotts Cemetery near Poughkeepsie under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to service time Friday.
