Wreck Kills Man; 7 Others Injured
Eight persons were injured, one fatally, in automobile accidents in Tuscaloosa County over the weekend.
Dead was William C. Hewitt, 39, of 1902 Main Avenue, Northport, who died at Druid City Hospital at 3 a.m. from injuries received Sunday when the automobile in which he was riding left the Eutaw Highway five miles south of town and plunged down an embankment.
Injured in the same wreck was Edward Robertson, 24, Northport, who was treated at Druid City Hospital for head injuries.
Mr. Hewitt is survived by his widow, three children, Bonnie, Dorothy and Bobbie Herwitt, his parents, Mr. and mrs. W. H. Hewitt, Samantha; seven brothers, James, John, J. D., Earl, Russell, Billy and George W. Hewitt.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday from Haygood Methodist Church with interment in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are to be John Henry Bigham, Albert Bigham, Richard Bigham, Billy Bigham, J. T. Bigham and Victor Bigham.
