Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sunset Chapel Funeral Home with burial to follow at Haygoood Methodist Church Cemetery.
He was a member of Oakdale Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Hewitt, Tuscaloosa; a son, Raymond Hewitt, Tuscaloosa, a son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Cissy Hewitt, Moundville; five brothers, Jim Hewitt, Earl Hewitt, John Hewitt, Bill Hewitt and Jack Hewitt, all of Tuscaloosa; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Hewitt, Randall Hewitt, James Olen Hewitt, Dan Hewitt, Donnie Hewitt, Jimmy Cork and Mack Olive.
