Individual Details
Bennett Richard "Dick" Stringfellow
(19 Jan 1880 - 2 Jul 1945)
His daughter Charlotte wrote this about her father: "He was born on his parents farm. He joined a local band and played a trumpet and mandolin, and met his future wife who played piano. When he married, his parents gave him 160 acres of land - this was part of their farm. He lived there for about eight years, then moved to Omaha, Texas, and at that time worked for a railroad. After his wife's death in 1914, he moved back to Morris county where owned and operated a cotton gin. He later moved to Texarkana when he again worked for a railroad company until his retirement. He died, after a long illness, in a hospital owned by the Texas and Pacific railroad in Marshall, Texas. He was buried in the Loving section of Spring Hill Cemetery, rocky Branch, Texas."
