Willie Bula Watkins
(14 Sep 1879 - 2 Nov 1914)
Taken from the "Stafford Stringfellow story". "Having lost her mother at a very early age, she spent a great deal of time with her mother's parents. These were visits only.
She was a well educated woman, especially in music. She taught piano before her marriage. She played in a local band as did her husband-to-be. He played a trumpet. She also was in a string group, playing for dances, etc. Many narrations by Charles M. Forsyth, her uncle, about their great time playing for dances, he playing the fiddle, her husband to be playing a mandolin and she the piano. These later events were in Morris County where she met and married Bennett Richard Stringfellow. Her father did not approve of her marriage and he refused any contact with her for several years. He finally came to see her when her third child, Earl, was born. After that they became very close again and remained so until her death. She was buried in the Loving Cemetery (a section of the Spring Hill Cemetery, Morris County, Texas."
