Aphrodite Semetis Honored at Shower
Mrs. George P. Semetis of 300 Washington Ave. honored her sister-in-law, Miss Aphrodite Semetis, also of Brooklyn, at a shower at her home on Sunday. Miss Semetis is the fiancee of George John Doukas of Brooklyn and Patchogue. Their wedding will take place April 28 in St. Constantine's Greek Orthodox Church. Pauline Ladis Becomes Bride in Manhattan
Pauline Ladis of Woodside and Thomas Kanakos of Jamaica were united in marriage in Holy Trinity Cathedral, Manhattan, by the Rev. Constantine J. Kazanas.
The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Ladis of 43-15 61st Street, was gowned in Italian silk taffeta and Alencon lace ending n a cathedral train. She carried orchids and lilies of-the-valley.
Kiki Ladis attended her sister as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Flora Ladis, another sister; Helen Dekeos of the Bronx, Cassandra Kontakos of Schenectady and Alice Kostakos of Brooklyn.
Thomas Vasilas of the Bronx served as his cousin's best man. Ushers were Thomas Ladis, the bride's brother, Gus Kanakos, brother of the bridegroom, Peter Kouvaris of the Bronx and Taki Kontakos of Schenectady.
The bride, a machine operator, was graduated from the Sparton High School in Greece. Her husband, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kanakos, attended Roosevelt High School in the Bronx. He is a restaurateur.
After a wedding trip to Florida, the couple will live in Jamaica.
