There was a marriage in Muskingum County, OH, between a Thomas Launder and Ellen McFarling on 6 Mar 1834 that might be possible for his first marriage, but tax records indicate there was a Thomas Launder there who already owned land before 1834, so it is more likely that marriage was his.
Tree at ancestry says this is the right marriage, but I still have some concern, as the marriage record says "both of Zanesville." Further looking shows an Absalom Fox married to Sarah McFarland in Warren Co., OH.
