"Hermina (Minnie) Nowlin, age 70, died at the Hadley Regional Medical Center in Hays, Kansas, on September 12, 1986. She was born February 12, 1916, to George and Mary (Marghaim) Koleber. She was married to John Nowlin on September 12, 1936.
Minnie was a homemaker and a member of the Presbyterian Church of WaKeeney. She and her family lived on a farm north of WaKeeney until they moved to town in 1958. Minnie was a good wife and mother who always enjoyed helping others in need. She was very active in the Senior Citizen's Program with the Meal Site and Recreation Program.
Minnie was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Alvy; two brothers, Arthur Koleber and Harold Dean Koleber; and one sister, Elenora Draper.
Survivors include her husband, John; one daughter, Bonnie Jean Cornelius of Kantoul, Illinois; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three sisters, Alvina Niver of WaKeeney, Esther McCannof Fairfield, Ohio, Martha Kroeger of Denver, Colo.; three brothers, Ernest Koleber of Lawrence, Edward Koleber of Carlsbad, Calif., Robert Koleber of Lander, Wyoming; nieces, nephews, relatives, and many friends.
Minnie and John were married exactly 50 years on the day of her death.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 16, 1986, at the Presbyterian Church in WaKeeney, the Rev. Floyd H. Staarr, II officiating. Burial was in the WaKeeney City Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials to the Presbyterian Church of WaKeeney or to John Nowlin."
