Affidavit of 16 Nov 1878 by his mother, Sarah Vincent, in his father's probate states: Jefferson D. Vincent aged 13 years (1865) single and whose P.O. address is Searsboro Iowa.
His birthdate was 4 Oct 1864 according to a written memo by Evelyne Vincent 6 Sep 1982 in the possession of Becky Smith. There is no notation as to where she obtained that date, but it has a number of other Vincent names and dates. The memo also gave his marriage date, his wife's name and her dates of birth and death.
