Individual Details
Andreas "Salunga" Hershey
(1702 - Abt 1792)
Andreas Hershey, and his brothers Benjamin and Christian, were Mennonite ministers, according to family oral accounts. Andreas and Benjamin came to America in 1717 with their parents, Christian and Adelheit Hershey, and their sister, Anna. He signed the Declaration of Loyalty in 1728, but never completed the process to become a naturalized British citizen. Andrew Hershey owned over 1000 acres of farm land when he died. A Mennonite, he preached in Salunga, near West Hempfield in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
There is confusion with some researchers mixing Andreas "Salunga" Hershey with Andreas "East Petersburg" Hershey.
